Margo McNulty and Luke Gibbons on Duality [Video]

In these times of restraint, lock-ins and lock-downs, it is a pleasure to revisit – albeit briefly and virtually – the exhibition Duality in which some of my writing features.

Having experienced the process of creating and working on the publication Duality, and walked through and into the exhibition, being drawn towards and inside those trees, it is enlightening to hear Margo speak of her narrative and artistic intentions. Take 4 mins, 58 seconds and enjoy this video in which Margo McNulty and Luke Gibbons speak about Duality.

With thanks to Roscommon County Council and Kildare County Council for Arts Act Grants funding.

Following on from the wonderful launch of our art book Duality at The Kildare Readers Festival in October 2019, I am delighted to announce the opening of Margo McNulty’s art exhibition in Roscommon Arts Centre.

The exhibition, also entitled Duality, will be opened in Roscommon Arts Centre by Luke Gibbons at 4pm on Saturday 15th February 2020.

In the exhibition, a small selection of my writing complements her visual art just as our work dialogued together in the book. It would be wonderful to see some of you there – everyone is welcome.

See COLLABORATION for some photographs of the opening.

We are both very grateful to Kildare County Council and Roscommon County Council for awarding us Arts Act Grants which helped fund this collaborative project.

The Joys of Festivals: Readers, Writers and Artists

Duality was launched at Kildare Community Library on Friday, 11th October as part of The Kildare Readers Festival.

It was a great night with a warm introduction by Celine Broughal and a moving launch speech by Lucina Russell (Arts Officer County Kildare). The hard work in creating and collaborating melts away when artists and readers find joy and meaning in the work.

The audience questions were engaging and thought-provoking and provided great discussion.

Thank you to all who came along on the night, participated and supported us. We are very grateful. We are looking forward to further readings and exhibitions of the art work over the coming months and into 2020 – more details soon!
